Wonder Years Early Learning & Child Care
"Enriching Children's Lives during the Early Years"
MSDE Credentialed and NAFCC Accredited

Wonder Years Early Learning and Child Care philosophy is simple. Children learn best from hands-on experiences in a nurturing environment that offers guidance from positive role models. Wonder Years Early Learning and Child Care agrees with research that the first three years of a child's life is the most vital. And I strongly believe that parents, providers and educators play an integral part in the success of a child's developmental growth and success in life. I am committed to helping children learn about themselves, their feelings, build relationships with others, and preparing them to be school ready as identified by the Maryland Model for School Readiness (MMSR). I believe parent involvement and communication is also vital to the success of a quality child care program. Children need to see that parents and caregivers have a good relationship.

Parents are always invited and encouraged to participate, share a talent, or to help us build onto our program. Wonder Years Early Learning and Child Care offers parents the opportunity to be involved through the following:
- A Parent information bulletin displays a variety of important information from agencies and organizations, schools and daycare
- Family Communication - Monthly Newsletter, Parent surveys, Curriculum Outline, Upcoming Events and Important Dates, Weekly Menus, Parent Survey, Daycare Schedule, Parent Handbook, and Open door policy
- Parent Volunteering - birthday and holiday parties, story time, field trips, snacks, special projects
- Parent Mailboxes along with a suggestion box for suggestions, comments or concerns, Yearly Parent/Provider Conferences (Ages and Stages Questionnaire)
- A secured electronic login and out with photo identification
- Daycare website with a Parent Resource Area. Allows parents to view photos of their children and sensitive information privy to enrolled children and their parents only.
- Participation in the Scholastic book Club

In order to maintain a safe and orderly daycare, it is necessary for me to enforce certain rules and procedures. When it is required to discipline children for their inappropriate actions, I will explain our rules, talk with the child about alternate behavior, encourage problem solving, or redirect behavior. When necessary, one minute per year age will be used for time-out.
If any child has trouble adjusting to my discipline procedures, parents will be notified and asked to schedule a conference to help assist with adjustment ideas.
I will never use any form of physical punishment, belittle a child, or withhold food as discipline.
